Razed Ranch Hits its Zenith.

Months ago, we took this ranch home down to the first-floor framing and slowly rebuilt the first floor with an open living plan while adding generous bedrooms on the new second floor. The modern kitchen and larger family gathering spaces are key to happier living, and the master suite on the second floor provide simple but grander amenities. A second garage bay and a new mudroom make coming and going a pleasure again.

From street side, the new shell behaves appropriately by incorporating several architectural devices reminiscent of early 2oth century residential architecture. Covered porches, projecting bays, and dormers help keep the rooflines low and the massing reduced. No one should be the bad neighbor where scale and proportion take leave and neighbors take note. Everything is looking up.
